Graduate Education Review – Faculty comments requested

On February 25 & 26, 2008, UNT hosted an External Graduate Education Review Team comprised of:

• Dr. Karen Klomparens, Dean, Graduate School, Michigan State University
• Dr. Linda Lacey, Dean, Graduate School, New Mexico State University
• Dr. Jeffrey C. Gibeling, Dean, Graduate Studies, University of California, Davis

Following the external review, an internal working group was appointed to assist in follow-up on the recommendations of the Report.  The internal team is comprised of:

• Joseph Oppong, Professor in Geography
• Ana Cleveland, Professor of Library and Information Sciences
• David Schwarz, Associate Professor of Music
• Kathleen Whitson, Lecturer in Counseling and Higher Education
• Ruthanne Thomas, Professor of Chemistry and Associate Vice President for Research

We are now asking faculty with experience in graduate education to read the final Graduate Education Report and provide commentary.  Comments will be accepted until September 30, 2008.  Faculty input is a very valuable part of the review process; please submit your feedback for review by the Provost and internal review team.
